Filipinos are the fifth-largest migrant community in Australia, and within this network is a growing plethora of Pinoys who regularly contribute to the wider arts and culture ecosystem.

My line of work as a facilitator, writer, marketer and producer brings me in congregation with countless of Filipinos. So after years of exchanging names and recommendations through social apps, emails, screenshots and pieces of paper, I decided to build an opt-in list in September 2024 that could be shared around easily.

In Tagalog, β€˜barkada’ means β€˜group of friends’. In this spirit, π˜½π™–π™§π™ π™–π™™π™– π™„π™£π™™π™šπ™ is a new crowd-sourced list for Filipino diaspora in Australia to connect, amplify talent, share work or interests, and to explore potential ways to gather and connect!

❇️ ADD YOUR DEETS ❇️
You’re invited to join this database if you are:

  • of Filipino ethnicity and living and/or working in Australia;
  • and you are practising across visual art, writing, creative cooking, publishing, performance, theatre, music, dance, architecture, organising, cultural development (or any practice mainly anchored by creative processes).

❇️ BROWSE/SHARE ❇️
Peruse the π˜½π™–π™§π™ π™–π™™π™– π™„π™£π™™π™šπ™ periodically to discover other Pinoys working in similar or adjacent fields. Use this directory to connect independently and share to your circles to help uplift Filipino talents.
